Tough Chicks

I don't know about you, but I am getting tired of all the women in movies/TV beating up men. For me the straw that broke the camel's back is the Michelle Rodriguez character on Lost. I know that Sawyer is weakened from being shot, but when she punched him while they were in the pit, I felt like the writers were equating them, as if she could do that whether he was weak or not. I just don't buy it.
This summer in Texas, I went to a martial arts belt test for my niece and nephew. My brother (their dad) was all excited about these two female instructors and especially how one of them always kicked her sparring partner in the head. I watched them spar (He is about 6'2") and she got her foot up there, but I don't think it had much power (granted a kick in the head is a kick in the head). But being limber and able to place your hand or foot somewhere does not equate with being able to put it there with enough force to be effective.
I have to say that when done well, the movie/TV tough chick can be a good thing. But right now I feel like I've had too much of it, and not all of it is even done well.
