Fingerpainting

Today we went to the Reynolda House Museum to see their Chuck Close: The Keith Series exhibit. The exhibit consists of 6 works and one study by Chuck Close of his friend Keith Hollingsworth. These pieces all use the same image of Keith as the source, but with each piece, Close used a different technique to recreate the image. In 3 of them, he used his own fingerprint to create the image.

It is a small exhibit, part of Reynolda House's own collection, but worth seeing. My wife really likes Close and was very excited to be able to see this exhibit, which runs through May 31st.

If you go, be sure to look at the study piece form the other side of the room. There is a surprise that we did not expect.
